This is the perfect project for newbie jumpsuit makers and wearers interested in working with stretch fabric. The wrap top and wide legs create a stylish silhouette, made from knit/stretch fabric, the jumpsuit is comfortable and versatile for any occasion. Join this one-day dressmaking workshop with Alison Leese, expert seamstress and owner of Ministry of Craft.
Using a fabric of your choice (see ‘What to Bring’), you’ll master the art of using one of our Janome overlockers to construct your jumpsuit with optional in-seam pockets and a tie belt. It features a faux wrap design, waist darts and options for three-quarter length or short sleeves to suit your style. This project is a fantastic opportunity to enhance your skills working with both stretchy fabrics and an overlocker and to create a wardrobe staple you’ll love to wear.
This workshop is perfect for testing your new skills if you’ve attended the Overlocking for Beginners workshop.

As this is not a beginner’s workshop, you must already have some experience on a sewing machine or have attended one of our Beginner sewing workshops.
You will need the following materials for your garment (all the equipment will be provided). Choose a medium weight knit fabric with a moderate stretch such as cotton jersey, polyester crepe, ponte roma. Avoid anything too light weight or stretchy.
Tea and coffee will be available at the workshop and you are welcome to bring along your own refreshments. There will be a break to eat, so please bring along some lunch or you can pop out to a local shop.
Our sponsors, Janome, supply computerised sewing machines (5060 QDC) and where required overlockers (6234XL). Unfortunately, it is not possible to bring along your own machines.
