Jumpsuit

£95.00

A relaxed and easy to wear one piece jumpsuit that comes with the option of wide 3/4 length sleeves, or sleeveless with a dropped shoulder. You get to choose! Join Alison Leese, skilled seamstress and owner of Ministry of Craft, for this one-day dressmaking workshop.

Using a fabric of your choice (see ‘What to Bring’), master essential dressmaking techniques as well as using one of our Janome overlockers for a professional finish to raw edges.

This jumpsuit wraps around the body and fastens with a tie so there is no need for buttons or a zip. The legs are cut wide and skim above the ankle. There are deep slant pockets on the front, with small pleats at the waist on the front and back. The neck edge is finished with a bias binding.

Advanced Beginner

As this is not a beginner’s workshop, you must already have some experience on a sewing machine or have attended one of our Beginner sewing workshops.

You will need the following materials for your garment (all the equipment will be provided). Woven, medium weight fabrics like cotton, denim and linen work well and it would also make up well in some heavier fabrics like drill. Nothing stretchy or bulky would be suitable:

  • 3m of 115cm wide fabric or 2.5m of 150cm wide fabric for sizes 6-12.
  • 3.5m of 115cm wide fabric or 2.8m of 150cm wide fabric for sizes 14-20.
  • 4m of 115cm wide fabric or 3.2m of 150cm wide fabric for sizes 22-28.
  • Matching thread.

Tea and coffee will be available at the workshop and you are welcome to bring along your own refreshments. There will be a break to eat, so please bring along some lunch or you can pop out to a local shop.

Our sponsors, Janome, supply computerised sewing machines (5060 QDC) and where required overlockers (6234XL). Unfortunately, it is not possible to bring along your own machines.
