You will need to bring the following to the workshop, if you want, you can purchase on the day from Bamber Sewing Machines and get 10% discount.
- 50cm of fabric for the apron skirt and piping – If your waist size is 90cm or more choose a wider width fabric (approx. 150cm rather than the narrower width of 115cm). Please avoid bulky, stretchy or slippery fabrics; light to medium weight woven cotton is ideal.
- 50cm contrasting fabric for the waistband, pocket bags and bias binding. Please avoid bulky, stretchy or slippery fabrics; light to medium weight woven cotton is ideal.
- 1 button approximately 25mm (maximum 30mm) in diameter, a 2-hole or 4-hole button is needed rather than one with a shank at the back (these cannot be sewn on using the sewing machine).
- Sewing thread to match the waistband and bias binding fabric.
Piping cord and all the equipment will be provided.
Tea and coffee will be available at the workshop and you are welcome to bring along your own refreshments. There will be a break to eat, so please bring along some lunch or you can pop out to a local shop.
Our sponsors, Janome, supply computerised sewing machines (5060 QDC) and where required overlockers (6234XL). Unfortunately, it is not possible to bring along your own machines.
